Where can I download lq-12?

Buy lq-12 from Gumroad. After purchase, the macOS disk image is available from your Gumroad library.

Which computers are supported?

The initial lq-12 1.0 release is for macOS, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Windows and Linux are not included in this release. Check the Gumroad listing for current download requirements. lq-trip 1.0 is available for macOS through Gumroad.

Where are releases sold?

What is lq-12?

A standalone sampler and groovebox for chopping, sequencing, shaping and resampling sounds. Version 1.0 has 16 playable pads, eight audio tracks and up to 64 steps per track.

Which version is available?

lq-12 1.0 for macOS, supporting Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It includes the redesigned Flow interface and independent pad shaping.

Do I need a DAW?

No. lq-12 runs as its own desktop application. This release is not a VST or Audio Unit plug-in.

How does chopping work?

Use transient detection or equal divisions to turn a sample into 16 playable pads. Audition the pieces you want, then place them in the step sequencer.

Can I change each pad separately?

Yes. Each pad can have its own pitch, volume, pan, reverse and DIRT settings. Individual sequencer steps can also override sound parameters.

What does resampling do?

It turns a pattern or mix into a new sample. You can chop that result, rearrange it and continue working with it inside lq-12.

Do I need a mouse?

Musical operations are designed for the computer keyboard. Press F1 in the app to see the full keyboard map.

Which sample files can I load?

lq-12 loads WAV and AIFF samples.

How long can a pattern be?

Each track can run from one to 64 steps and can have a different length from the other tracks.

Are pads the same as steps?

No. A pad is a playable sound; a step is a position in the pattern. You can use the same pad on several steps, rearrange the chops or leave some pads out entirely.

What is saved with a project?

Self-contained .lq12 projects include their samples. The current build also has undo, redo, autosave, crash recovery and WAV export.

What is lq-trip?

A standalone macOS ambient instrument combining granular synthesis, drones and Guided Evolution. Play notes and textures, keep musical memories and guide how they develop.

Can I buy or download it?

Yes. Buy lq-trip on Gumroad. The download includes the macOS application, user manual and getting-started guide.
