A few straight answers.

Both instruments are still in development. These answers describe the current builds and will grow as the first releases go out.

lowquo

General

Where can I download the instruments?: There is no public download yet. lq-12 is approaching private beta; lq-fm is earlier in development. You can ask to join a beta.
Which computers will be supported?: The first builds are for macOS. Wider platform support has not been announced yet.
Where will releases be sold?: Releases will be available from the lowquo store on Gumroad.

sampler / sequencer

What is lq-12?: An eight-track, 12-bit sampler and sequencer. Each track has four voices and its own sample, pattern length, level, pan, mute, solo and DIRT setting.
Do I need a mouse?: Musical operations are designed for the computer keyboard. Press F1 in the app to see the full keyboard map.
Which sample files can I load?: lq-12 loads WAV and AIFF files into a shared pool of up to 256 samples.
How long can a pattern be?: Each track can run from one to 64 steps and can have a different length from the other tracks.
Can a step use a different sample?: Yes. A track has a default sample, and any step can use another sample from the project pool.
What is saved with a project?: Self-contained .lq12 projects include their samples. The current build also has undo, redo, autosave, crash recovery and WAV export.

six-operator synthesizer

What is lq-fm?: A six-operator FM synthesizer with 32 algorithms and 12-voice polyphony. Operators can use ratio or fixed-frequency modes.
Is lq-fm ready to test?: The 0.1 panel and patch workflow are playable, but there is no public build yet. You can join the list for the first useful beta.
Can I use it without a mouse?: Yes. Playing, navigation, operator selection, editing, patch files and undo are available from the keyboard. Press F1 in the app to see the current map.
Can I save patches?: Yes. lq-fm saves its own patch files and shows whether the current sound is saved, edited or has never been saved. Closing with changes gives you Save, Discard and Cancel.
Can I change the interface colour?: Yes. Choose Amber, Mint, Ice, Violet, Red, Pink, Lime or White. The accent is remembered by the app and stays separate from the patch.
How can I hear when it is ready?: Join the lq-fm list and I’ll get in touch when there is a useful beta build.
